This use to be one of my favorite coffee shops! It use to be open 24 hours, had a great food menu and was always packed during finals week. It is sad what it has become after covid19.They
took away the WIFI, for awhile they defended it saying "talk to each other like its the 1990s". Intially, I had a hotspot and remained loyal to the place. But then they actually put up a sign that said NO STUDYING! I understand businesses suffered during the pandemic but coming after students and people doing remote work seems like a bad financial move. So I don't come here anymore but every time I walk by it seems dead so whatever you had hoped to achieve by removing people studying doesn't seem to have launched. #BringBackStudying

A Phoenix Gem.

Mix a coffee shop, a bar, and a music lounge all together and throw into an industrial wearhouse, and you get The Grand. Oh, and don't forget the lesser known "Prohibition Era" speakeasy upstairs on the weekends, or the outdoor wetbar and palm tree combo (good enough to take you back to your Jamaican honeymoon). Seriously though, it's a great spot for almost anybody. Whether you're getting late-night coffee to finish up your essay, or showing someone a cool "Phoenix Spot", or discovering some local artist sing on the weekend, try it.

The downside:
The wifi can be slow, but C'mon, use the slow speeds to people watch, look for secret doorways, or catch up on Bob's Burgers.
OCD people be ready to not find a cohesive theme throughout the establishment.

Cheers.

Been meaning to come try this place for awhile and managed to make it over here for lunch during a day off work. I’m mad I waited so long to try this spot out - it’s got SO much space inside and the coffee is delicious. I ordered a vanilla cappuccino but when I looked up and saw a Buffalo Cauliflower Sandwich on the board, I had to go ahead and get that too. We opted for a side of sweet potato fries, and I’ve never seen them prepared this way before - they were like sweet potato steak fries. Absolutely amazing - crispy on the outside and a good soft texture inside. The cauliflower sandwich was incredible too - perfect amount of buffalo sauce, and topped with fresh cucumber and carrots really gave every bite a nice pop. Inside, out back, off to the side, upstairs - there’s so many places to choose for seating here and I love it. I’ll certainly come back on a Friday or Saturday night to try my crack at the speakeasy password that the bartender gave a heads up on.

I really enjoy this coffee shop. It has the perfect vibe and is always quiet. The food is delicious and the coffee flavors are to die for. The workers are always very kind. But mainly, the indoor and outdoor atmosphere is perfect for studying. I will continue to come down here when I am downtown.

Just visited for the first time and am completely obsessed with this place! Eclectic blend between a coffee shop and a bar, it has a fun and funky vibe.

We were there for the live music and enjoyed the outdoor patio seating; there were students studying and couples just hanging out inside.

A gem, something for everyone!! I can't wait to go back and experience more of this great establishment!!

Leaving a review due to how disgusting the drinks were. DO NOT GO HERE—> ghost ship, the speakeasy !! Was genuinely excited to try this place based on living right next door to it. Shocked considering how highly rated it is. Drinks are batched meaning pre made. So they tasted horrible. I also had awful drinks at disco dragon which is batched too. There is a $20 minimum per person so my boyfriend and I were stuck sitting 2 feet away from the bartender where the drinks were just awful he couldn’t even take a sip without making a horrible face and he bartends lol. I don’t bartend so this is a genuine review. I will say the atmosphere is great but you can’t even come for food because there’s only hummus, and 2 other things. We ended up ordering hummus to hit the minimum $ and to try and choke down our drinks with and left our drinks unfinished and darted out . Please just save your $55/ 2 people and go elsewhere. Or bring a chaser for when you come here. Sorry but batched places are a total downer just trying to save someone else the let down before they come here excited. I’m sure you’ll end up trying it after seeing the reviews but hopefully you get to tell all your friends too after don’t go, so nast! Lol

Food & coffee was great, prices were reasonable. Staff was friendly. Only suggestion, clean up place before opening for breakfast, looks like there was party the night before.

We used to come here all the time when it was Amsterdam and Palazzo next door. Love the new remodel. Good coffee, interesting food, and they still serve high end booze as well. That alone is worth coming back for. Once the weather cools off, it'll be nice to sit outside in the patio area, study and then have a drink & a smoke at the end of the day.

Food, drink, and ambiance were good but night was almost ruined by a man hiding in the women's bathroom and accosting ladies when they walked in alone. Management did nothing about the guy when told.

I've been coming here for a few months now to study. The place is divided into a variety of spaces that can create a different environment... Tables and couches along with a variety of lighting fixtures create a coffee shop feel. Althogh it is neither a coffee shop nor a bar.. its both..This place is great for a casual coffee meet up, grab a drink at the bar, or go upstairs to read... If you are not a total coffee snob, the drinks will do you just fine.
