Perks Coffee

If you haven't tired Perks Coffee yet you should. Anytime not spent drinking coffee is time you could spend drinking coffee and better yet you could drink coffee at Perks Coffee. This place is the bomb dot com! The coffee is awesome the atmosphere is great. The employees are awesome and friendly too.

I always have the Almond milk cappuccino and the taste is always consistent. One of the things I don't like about a lot of coffee shops is how the taste of the cappuccino changes from one day to another. Haven't run into that issue at Perks. It's always the same, and always good

The girls here are great. I just started coming here and they learned my order quickly. Also, it’s the only place I’ve seen where they give free refills on cold brew, and the cold brew is great!

I used to come here to get out of the office from time to time. Drinks were so so but it was a nice place to work and wasn't super crowded. Last week I was on a business call and the employee flagged me down saying it was "Time for you to go." I ended my call and immediately apologized for mistaking the closing time for 5pm not 4pm. The employee rudely replied "Hours are on the window. Get out!" I won't be returning.

I must preface this review with the fact that I am most definitely a coffee snob...

GREAT ATMOSPHERE: clean, spacious, inviting, and somewhat modern.

GOOD LOCATION: lots of businesses and residences that have been in need of a good cup of joe since the previous local coffee shop was bought out and closed down years ago.

GOOD JOE: again...coffee snob here. The coffee is pretty good and I imagine will only get better over time. Definitely worth paying for. On top of that, they have "freshly" roasted whole beans available for purchase. IMO this is a must. These beans are from another company, but that’s no knock on this shop. Unfortunately they aren't that fresh, which is typical when selling another company's beans. Menu and whole bean choices are a bit small, but not worth losing a star.

OK PRICES: prices are about the same as Starsucks, but you’re paying for a better product. Still a bit steep IMO. Worse are the bags of beans. These are 3/4 pound bags at full pound prices... this alone is almost worth losing a star to me. Overall prices are ok, because there are no neighboring competitors and consumers are used to these higher prices.

Since there are no half stars, I dropped 1 star for the combination of prices, small selection, and not so freshly roasted beans. As a 4-5 star shop, I highly recommend trying this place out!

Showed up right at opening and the staff were quite friendly. Ordered a matcha tea latte and a breakfast sandwich which were both ready in a few minutes. Quality and taste were great for the price point.

Awesome little coffee shop. It is not as busy as a Starbucks therefore it is more quiet and suitable for studying / working. Nice little pastries too and dishes they serve along with their coffee. 👍

I love this coffee shop - plenty of outlets and strong coffee (plus a student discount - hooray!).
Two things that might cause me to stop coming here - they always play pop/top 40 music a little too loud and the recessed lighting above the booths flickers. This might not bother everyone but if you’re trying to study, it’s a nightmare trying to study with these two things combined. The lights have been flickering for quite a while - how hard is this to fix????
Just these little things taken care of and this place would be five stars!

Nice friendly staff. Pleasant sunny surroundings. Nothing outstanding though. Coffee is neither great not bad. I like it because I can sit down and get work done with easy access electrical outlets and really good free WiFi.

My favorite place to get work done. It is like a hole in the wall. Not to many people were it is distracting like Starbucks or B&N. The coffee it great and so is the tea selection. Service is good as well.
