I was so excited to try this place. The owner’s wife greeted me right away and sat me down.
I ordered my food, waited about 15 minutes only to see other people get their food when they were seated after me. Several people got their food before me. I kept asking where is my food?
They said they didn’t know and they would check.
More time passes and the owner’s wife told me it’s her fault but she’s getting my food for me. I ended up walking out because the food never came. Disappointed is an understatement.

Mmmmmmhmmmmm! If you want good southern comfort food- this is the place. The food is as good as the owner/chef, Joe. He's loud and happy and will make you smile. You'll sit down to your meal and sigh in sweet southern satisfaction!
The eggs and hash browns were cooked to perfection! Perfect crisp on the hash browns . Their Texas sausage is heavenly. Their omelette are top notch. They advertise the best biscuits & gravy in UT; I admit that I'm not convinced that is true. Though I will say the flavor was amazing! As far as I could tell- it was more like pieces-of-white-bread & gravy.
This brings me to an important note. Don't expect custom, everything made from scratch, healthy, breakfast food. This is southern comfort breakfast and lunch. There is butter and magic in the food. The bread and English muffins are the same you could buy at the supermarket. The grits (which is delicious) is Quaker brand- you can see the containers of it behind the counter. With that expectation in place- come and enjoy the best southern comfort hospitality and breakfast this side of the Mississippi.

5-star service. Best attitudes I have seen in a food servise staff in many years. Made everyone feel welcomed, at ease. Super helpful with ordering and seating. Incredible experience. The food was downright homey but lacked full flavor. I also tried the French toast, which turned out to be quite a letdown. What is too bad is that this place was busy, so I had high hopes going into it. Too bad the food did not live up to the service received.

Joe is not just friendly but he is personally involved in getting all his customers fed and happy. Delicious stack of pancakes and awesome grits! Thanks Joe!

If I were to go back I would try something with their homemade salsa. That was the best thing they had. The service is very very friendly. I really love biscuits and gravy, and the B&G I had here I did not like at all. But I enjoyed the few bites of their Breakfast burrito from my wife's plate. That is where I tired the salsa and it was awesome.

Joe's is the best breakfast I've had in a long time. The plates are huge. I think you should plan on sharing with your significant other if your not truly breaking a fast. Everyone really enjoyed their meals. The biscuits and gravy are very unique and better than the traditional sausage gravy type. I need to try the grits next visit.

We decided to go to Joes Cafe on April 22nd 2023 because of an article we read about Joes in the Deseret News. It said best of the best in Utah. We definitely were not disappointed!! We were greeted by Joe, the owner!! What?? The OWNER!! Yes the owner! He is GREAT! Where else can you go and be greeted by the owner!
The staff was amazing! Their costumer service was top notch!! The food was great as well and they even had gluten free toast for my husband! The grits are sooo yummy!! Thanks Joe and Joes staff for making us feel like family!! We definitely will be back!

The food is so great. One of the last classic American diners with great greasy food and fun atmosphere. My perfect day involves carrying around a thermos full of grits all day and thats it!Joe is so fun, he makes the kids feel so special and cute.

My wife and I have lived in Orem for years and we had never tried Joes. The day we were moving we decided that it was time to try it. We feel as if we missed out on years of happiness after we tried their food.
Their biscuits and gravy are delicious, and their breakfast sandwich was fantastic. You won’t be disappointed with anything they serve here.
