This is my favorite coffee shop in NOVA. They take their coffee quality very seriously and it shows. We go here almost every weekend and the place has never not delivered on exactly that, plus their breakfast sandwiches and pastries are great too. All of their syrups are made in-house so their lattes are fantastic, and their nitro cold brew, drip, and pour over are also top tier. Staff is super friendly too. Gets crowded on weekends but that's to be expected. Definitely go here if you drink coffee.

I love going to this spot!! Anytime I have guests I take them here; it’s such a vibe! I love the lattes. I usually order an egg and cheese on a biscuit and love that; it’s a huge sandwich. I’ve gone here to chat with friends or to get work done solo. Parking is limited but I’ve never had a problem finding it.

Place is great if you want to buy locally roasted beans to make coffee at home, especially the Colombian and Mexican varieties. The cold brew is pretty decent, but none of the barristers have no idea how to make decent coffee. The espressos are done with ratios all over the place and are overwhelmingly bitter. Believe me, I've tried their coffees numerous times and am always disappointed and actually kind of confused because everything else about the place is perfect, especially the pastries!

Went there yesterday and saw a lady's car almost getting towed. Luckily she arrived on time and quickly sat in the car but the tower had already placed the long things under the car and as she drove off he lifted the car even though he knew she was inside. She drove off but I would be surprised if her car didn't get damaged. It was really shocking. That's to say parking is flaky. I drove around for 10 minutes before confirming that I could park there in the back. I went inside, asked someone working inside the shop if I could park in the back. He was not very friendly and asked me to refer to a map in the front. Luckily my car did not get towed and I would've been back had it not been for the coffee experience. I got a Cardamom Vanilla Latte that was big on cardamom and completely missing vanilla. It was milky with cardamom flavor. Had to get home and add some honey but still couldn't finish it. Very disappointed in the overall service and coffee. Not returning.

We were so disappointed. We love supporting local businesses and unfortunately this one missed the mark in a big way. We showed up 7 minutes before close and the entire staff pretended like they didn’t see us. We had to ask to order. Then, they said they had cleaned and shut everything down for the day. And then looked at us like we were crazy for even being there. Lol! So, we probably won’t try this spot again. I get it, I’ve worked in the hospitality/service industry for 15+ years and at the end of the day, you just want to go home. But you also know as someone that works in the industry that you don’t shut everything down until you close. Rookie mistake. It’s hospitality, your guests come first. All we wanted was black coffee - hot, cold, room temp - literally anything to pick us up before a pottery painting date. (Right around the corner - THAT business, I do recommend.) Can’t really be too upset because it is just coffee at the end of the day, but this was just a disappointing experience.

So, I do like this place. It's a local shop and they roast the coffee on site. That's awesome. It stays pretty busy even though there is a Starbucks down the street. You can also order ahead which is convenient, but you still have to park behind the building and go in which takes a little (seriously, a little) more effort than parking at Starbucks. Not their fault.

If you want to go there to work, better get there early. People go there and camp out. They're ordering coffee and being good patrons, but that means there isn't a high turnover rate of tables. I really love all the plants and the big, sunny windows. It feels very warm and it's my favorite place to kill time.

I usually get the matcha latte which is average at best. For some reason they don't have coconut milk and the almond milk feels too thick.

The food there is good and original. I like that it varies and that it's not mass produced (like Starbucks). However, this also means that if you like something, it may not be there next time.

I've only had one thing there that was difficult to finish. I can't even remember what it was other than that it was a ball. If you see it (and it's gluten free) pick anything else. Seriously. Go for the gluten and get their bacon biscuit. It's DELISH!

My only other complaint is that it closes pretty early. I wasn't expecting that. This is not a spot for afternoon coffee or a date-meet-up. All in all, a good spot if you're in Falls Church and definitely worth checking out instead of Starbucks.

I bought yesterday 2 coffees: latte and cappuccino, both were so bad- completely tasteless - like a water with a coffee flavor 🥺 I was surprised, rating of this place is good. I trashed both after a couple of sips (my husband refused to drink it as well). Will never come again!
Staff was very nice!

Great atmosphere, friendly service. Enjoyed my visit. Free parking in the larger lot behind the building, make sure you check the note on the back entrance to ensure you have parked in the right area.

Went for the first time to Rare Bird Coffee as I’ve heard so many great things about it. Beautiful atmosphere and coffee spot.
Ordered a honey matcha latte and asked for extra hot. When I got it, it was barely hot and more warm than anything. Asked the barista if he could either warm up or add extra hot milk to it as I had hoped for a hotter cup of matcha.. barista said no and that how it’s ordered it comes out and he can’t do anything about it. Just very sad and disappointed that I came here for the first time and that’s the experience. I really wanted this to be my new coffee and study spot.
