While the coffee can be great, they use Costco oat milk, which is not creamy and horrible in coffee drinks. Completely overshadows the taste of coffee. Why use cheap alt milk when you’re charging extra for it anyways. I hope they do a taste comparison between this oat milk and regular milk lattes to see how it spoils the experience.
Wish I knew in advance so would’ve taken regular milk to be able to taste the true Kona coffee.

Quite inconsistent. I ordered the same drink two different days this week and both were outrageously different. The one on the left is the first drink delicious taste and perfect temp. The one on the right was originally given to me in a to go cup when I asked for “For Here”. I think the barista just threw it in a cup and added more milk. So it lost a lot of flavor, was overflowing and wasn’t even hot. In addition the latte art was pretty pathetic.. it would have been alright but the barista didn’t really seem to care that the order was messed up and made me wait quite a while for the adjusted drink. I would have even understood if they were busy but the shop was pretty empty.

The coffee is very good. The service and communication to customers is terrible. This is the second time visiting and the first time was a good experience. The second time we ordered avocado toast and it took over 30 minutes and they said there were still five orders in front of us.

Hip spot with cool merch to prove it. Slightly pricey for small cup sizes but very well made drinks. Industrial surroundings make it feel like the Funk Zone in Santa Barbara.

Try the very different Ube latte that contains purple sweet potato syrup here.

Stopped in for a coffee and a small bite before a quick drive up to Mauna Kea. We had an iced latte and an Ube sweet cream iced latte to drink and one of each of the musubi that we shared half of both with each other. Both musubi were very nice, but the crab musubi was our favorite. The loaded musubi was fine, but it's basically just a spam musubi with sauces. No complaints, but it sounded more extravagant from the menu description that it actually was.
It was the perfect amount of food for a light lunch.
We grabbed a pineapple and cheese Danish for the road, the texture of which reminded me more of a bialy than a Danish, but the pineapple was very tasty.
If I lived here, I could see this being a regular spot for a decent bite to eat with a good coffee.

HiCo coffee was really good :) they have some fantastic coffee flavors. Their nitro coffee was very tasty and on point. My wife got a Taunami frap blend (chocolate, macadamia nut, coconut, and vanilla). She really liked that as well. Really nice people, definitely recommend

Cold brew coffee was very good! I ordered the Ka'u cold brew because the Kona brew was $1 more per coffee. Their breakfast pastries looked good, so I ordered two malasadas, one coconut and one custard. These ended up being the BEST malasadas we had while in Hawaii, better than Tex's Drive In and the Punalu'U Bake Shop. If they are selling malasadas when you visit, I highly recommend! That said, they were expensive at nearly $6 per malasada, compared to the $2 malasadas elsewhere (no price was listed until I went to pay for everything). So that markup might not make them worth it, but the filling to dough ratio was perfect. Lots of open-air seating so it would be a fun place to meet friends or bring your computer to work.

This is a popular spot but worth the wait if it's busy. Staff interaction varies from each visit some staff are very helpful others seem overwhelmed. Someday I'll buy the merch great designs , probably top 2 on my favorite coffee spots in Kona.
